Jorginho propaganda at Chelsea has been made official it would appear after the club released a hype video celebrating the former Napoli star.
Italy midfielder Jorginho was Maurizio Sarri’s man, hailed as the chief exponent of the “Sarriball” possession play on his £57million arrival from Napoli in the summer of 2018.
But Sarri’s man in the middle attracted all the brickbats from the terraces any time Chelsea laboured under the former Napoli boss’ heavily-proscriptive system.
Another accusation levelled at Jorginho last year was that he was playing on a regular basis because he was a favourite of former boss Maurizio Sarri.
Things have been different this season though and the midfielder is starting to get the recognition he deserves.
The Italy international was treated to a rendition of his name during the 3-2 Premier League win at Norwich.
That comes on the back of a difficult first season for the 27-year-old, who was often criticised and even jeered off the pitch on occasion.
Calls for the Italian to be made captain instead of Azpilicueta have been growing louder among Chelsea fans and it seems the club are aware of the affection Jorginho has been generating lately after a tumultuous first season in England.
