Saudi interest in Newcastle United
It has been reported that Amanda Staveley and her husband, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, joined by Jamie Reuben and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the governor of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) have reportedly agreed a deal with Mike Ashley to buy the club.
Latest developments indicate that the takeover bid for the club has reached the Premier League’s Owners and Directors’ Test stage.
This stage effectively represents regulatory approval. The deal is now in the hands of the Premier League and reports on Sunday morning suggested a deal could be completed ‘within 10 days’.
