Italian midfielder Jorginho was brought to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2018 by the then newly appointed Chelsea manager Sarri.
Sarri had managed Jorginho at Napoli and believed that the Italian was key to the success of his footballing philosophy.
Jorginho soon replaced Kante at the base of the Chelsea midfield but struggled to replicate his Napoli form in England.
It was baffling to see Kante, one of the best CDMs in the world, being played out of position. And Jorginho’s performances on the field were not helping.
This season under new manager Lampard, Jorginho has seen a mini revival in his form and started to impress the fans.
But his time at Chelsea could come to an end as Juventus are reportedly desperate to get their hands on the Italian this summer.
A replacement would need to be found if the midfielder does end up joining Sarri again and one such possible name being touted is Lyon starlet Houssem Aouar.
The 21-year-old midfielder, who has impressed fans worldwide with his dynamic and mature performances, peaked the interest of Chelsea fans after he ‘liked’ a comment comparing him with Jorginho.
The comment on Twitter seemingly put the Lyon man in good light at the expense of the Chelsea midfielder.
The Frenchman soon removed the ‘like’ but eagle-eyed Chelsea fans were able to manage the screengrab just in time –
Only time will tell whether this was just Aouar taking a shot at a rival midfielder or a sign that he may be coming to the Bridge soon.
