After a disastrous 18/19 campaign, Real Madrid were quick to dive deep in the transfer market to fill the massive void left behind by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, and Rodrygo were the costliest expenditures in the long list of players bought in by Los Blancos.
In spite of the high profile signings, a free transfer involving an 18-year-old from the J-league side FC Tokyo equally grabbed the headlines in Spanish media.
Dubbed as ‘the Japanese Messi,’ Takefusa Kubo profoundly impressed his team-mates and the coaching staff at Madrid.
Although it was known throughout that, the Japanese international was going to have a hard time breaking into the Galacticos XI; his qualities were too good for him to play with the RM Castilla (Madrid’s B-team).
Brimming with potential, Kubo since has been playing a promising season with RCD Mallorca on loan from Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, in Madrid, Eden Hazard finally managed to put his injury troubles behind him to find his feet under Zinedine Zidane.
The former Chelsea star put in another solid performance against Kubo’s Mallorca to send Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table.
On the other hand, Kubo himself managed to impress everyone with his performance against his parent club.
The Japanese winger managed to trouble the Madrid back line on several occasions, catching everyone’s attention with his drive and skills on the ball.
After the end of the match, Kubo was spotted having a chat with Hazard.

The 19-year-old once confessed to Eden Hazard that he used to watch Hazard’s video before a game.
It seems that the Japanese wunderkind has found himself an idol among the Real Madrid team.
Zinedine Zidane would undoubtedly be keeping an eye from Madrid on Kubo’s development. If he continues at this rate, Takefusa Kubo might as well find himself playing alongside Eden Hazard eventually.
