Leeds United can finally see the end to a 16-year exile from first-division football. It has been over a decade and a half long journey the club faithful had to endure, but Marcelo Bielsa is on course to become the man to lead the Whites into the Premier League.
Bielsa, famously known ‘El Loco,’ pulled Leeds out of the mid-table right into promotion contention after taking over the club’s coaching position in 2018.
Although the club fell just short in the 18/19 season, the Argentine is leaving no stones unturned to get the job done this season.
As a result of his astounding work as Leeds United coach, the Argentine could possibly attract interest from other clubs. That is a conundrum that might put even the sturdiest of Leeds fans into worry.
However, former Leeds United man Jermaine Beckford has shown how to deal with such questions.
Beckford, who played four seasons with the club since 2006, completely owned the Sky Sports correspondent when asked about the probability of the Leeds coach leaving the club.
“Well, he’s at one of the best clubs in the UK, so why would he want to leave?” said the former Leeds striker with a dead serious face.
Bamboozled by Beckford’s reply, the Sky Sports presenter exclaimed, ‘Well, you know!’
To which the 36-year-old delivered the final sucker punch, ‘No, I don’t.’
