Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola doesn’t think Kevin de Bruyne will win the PFA Player of the Year award as ‘these awards are always for Liverpool’.
Regarded as the top individual award in English football, the announcement of PFA Player of the Year for this season is set to happen in a few hours’ time.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and City’s Kevin de Bruyne are the two favorites to win the award but the Belgian doesn’t seem to have any chance if Pep Guardiola is to be believed.
The former Barcelona manager did not mince his words when asked about KDB’s chances – “The winner will be from Liverpool. When we won the Premier League the Liverpool players won. When they win the League, I’m pretty sure they are going to win the Player of the Season. These awards are always for Liverpool.”
