Tottenham Hotspur welcomed their first signing since the end of the season as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg joined Spurs from Southampton in a reported 15 million pound deal.
The Denmark international underwent his medical at Tottenham’s Enfield training centre yesterday after signing a five year deal with the London based club.
The 25-year-old midfielder was dropped and stripped off as a Saints captain post-lockdown after he refused to extend his contract with Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side.
The player arrived in England from Bayern Munich in 2016 and since have established himself at St Mary’s making 134 appearances and scoring five goals in the process.
Jose Mourinho would be glad to have the player at his disposal, and the Spurs faithful seems delighted over the Hojbjerg’s arrival in London as well.
The club’s official social media accounts were busy presenting the signing to the fans yesterday. Spurs Instagram handle posted a clip to help the supporters pronounce Hojbjerg’s handful of a name.
His soon to be teammate Lucas Moura popped down in the comments section with a hilarious comment, stating, “Thank You! I was worried about that; I was only going to say ‘Hello my friend’.”
