Thiago Alcântara was Bayern Munich’s chief architect as he dictated the tempo with a fine display against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final.
The central midfielder’s range of passing, ball recoveries, tackles and chance creation was top notch and up to the mark.
And after his excellent display against the French outfit, German news outlet Der Spiegel reported that Thiago is on his way to join Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp next season.
The Spaniard still has one year remaining on his contract but it does seem like Thiago has played his last game for the Bavarian giants.
After an excellent season which saw Liverpool finally get their hands on the Premier League crown, Klopp is looking forward to strengthening his team even further to challenge at all fronts again and maintain their incredibly high standards next season as well.
But what will Thiago add to the team?
Liverpool are going to benefit from a technically gifted player who possesses tranquility with the ball at his feet and who is able to find space in between the lines.
Moreover, his all round display against PSG showcases his ability to track back and win the ball for his team.
Strength in depth is key to maintain those lofty standards and Thiago could be Klopp’s ideal signing this summer.
The fact that Der Spiegel has reported the possibility of the move and is regarded as a reliable source of information, the move is more than likely to happen in this transfer window.
