The Blues faithful finally got to see their marquee signings in action during the 3-1 win against Brighton last weekend.
Newly-arrived German duo of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz featured from the start as Chelsea grabbed three points with a convincing performance on the night.
Although Kai Havertz admittedly lacked match fitness, his compatriot Werner had a much more encouraging display.
The German striker was a constant threat in the attack with his blistering pace and intelligent runs. He even won the penalty which led to the opening goal for Chelsea.
The signs are incredibly positive for the Blues, and things appear to be only getting better for Frank Lampard’s men.
With several high-quality additions now in the squad, Lampard would now want to mould them into a proper team and instil a sense of togetherness between each other.
However, as far as the new Bundesliga acquisitions are concerned, the Chelsea boss doesn’t really have to do much in that respect as fans spotted an endearing little moment between the duo during the game
Timo Werner managed to sneak into a promising position inside the box, with Havertz quickly lining up in the centre, hoping to receive the ball. However, Werner tried his own luck from the tight angle, eventually getting his shot saved.
But, the former Leipzig man was quick to apologize, exclaiming, ‘sorry Kai,’ right after he took the shot.

Kai Havertz and Timo Werner have regularly featured together with the German national team, and Werner (along with Rudiger) was even said to have been the catalyst in the signing of Kai Havertz.
The bond between the two was present before coming to London and is only going to get stronger at Chelsea.
