Tottenham Hotspur are going to Wembley as Jose Mourinho’s side clinched their place in the final of the Carabao Cup after beating Brentford last night.
Goals from Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min in either side of the half-time helped Spurs to a 2-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The North London side now have a chance to win their first trophy since the League Cup triumph over Chelsea back in 2008.
Despite the game being a smooth sailing for the majority of the part for Spurs, things got nasty towards the end as Josh Dasilva produced a horror tackle that left Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with a bloody shin.
Feeling sorry for his actions, the Brentford forward addressed the challenge on his social media account after the game as he wrote – “Anyone that knows me, knows it was never intentional.. will learn from this”
It was a deserved red card for Dasilva but completely unintentional and he would have felt a heavy burden off his shoulders when Hojbjerg responded to his tweet with a classy message.
The Spurs midfielder showed he’s quality off the pitch too as he wrote – “Of course you didn’t mean it. So don’t worry. I’m a viking and I am fine. But… You owe me a new shin pad (Smiling face with halo emoji)
“You have a great future ahead@joshdasilva_. Be strong & keep working hard. Best of luck to you and your team. Big hug,
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.”
