Fernando Torres grabbed the headlines this week as the former Liverpool and Chelsea star got promoted to a coaching role at Atletico Madrid’s B side.
The Spaniard made an appearance on his official Instagram account recently, and it is hard to ignore the physical transformation he has gone through since retiring from playing football.
At first glance, one might be mistaken to think that the shirt he is wearing might be too small but that’s not the case.
Torres, who’s nicknamed El Nino, has undergone a hulkish change when it comes to his arms and shoulders. He is far from the tall and lanky forward football fans would probably remember from his playing days.

Fernando Torres is now the personal trainer at your local PureGym who never seems to do any training, just rearranges the weights & flirts with the spin instructor. https://t.co/2sYs8cZSND

Torres embarks on a new journey
Besides going through a brutal physical change, the former Spain international is also moving quickly within the coaching ranks at Atletico Madrid.
One of the most beloved strikers of his generation, Torres joined Atletico last year as a coaching newbie after hanging his boots in 2019.
It is a credit to the former Liverpool man that he now finds himself as part of the coaching team at Atletico Madrid’s B side.
