Chelsea were not at their creative best in last night’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United, but their social media accounts really struck a chord with their creativity.
The official Chelsea Instagram account has recently got the internet talking about their creative content when they released a Tinder-themed line-up for their Premier League clash against Man Utd last night.
Ahead of their high-voltage meeting with rivals United at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea released a line-up graphic that is truly unique and probably something that has never been done before.
The graphic featured the eleven starting players as profiles on the famous dating app Tinder, accompanied by a picture of the player and a “bio” – as one would usually list on a profile on Tinder.
The bios for the players were hilarious in their own right, as it featured the most known characteristics of the players – for example, N’Golo Kante’s bio read that his smile covers the entire pitch.
Left back Ben Chilwell who started his first Premier League match under new manager Thomas Tuchel, had a bio which read that even though he plays on the left, one should make sure to “swipe right.”
Hakim Ziyech asks if one wants some magic in their life, while Olivier Giroud followed up his mid-week heroics with a bio reading “You’ll fall head over heels for my bicycle kicks.”
It was some great and innovative work from Chelsea’s social media administration team, as they successfully got themselves trending on Twitter with their line-up graphic.
But even though Chelsea and Manchester United did swipe right on each other for their match last night, the match ended in a 0-0 draw with neither team being successful to break the other down – but it was surely a victory for the Chelsea PR team who ended up being the sole winners on the night.
