Chelsea’s last Premier League outing ended in a 0-0 draw at Elland Road, as the Blues were unable to breach a Leeds defence who have been porous throughout the season. Both the teams struck the woodwork early on, but neither could create a substantial opening and break the deadlock until the full-time whistle went.
Chelsea could take their fair share of positives from the game as they return to the Bridge with another clean sheet and are still unbeaten under Thomas Tuchel’s management. There is no shortage of focus for the West London outfit who also seem to have an “ice-cold killer” in Kai Havertz.
A half time footage involving the Chelsea players inside the Elland Road tunnel showed that while Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount seemed to share a light-hearted moment, Havertz lurked in the background of the conversation – focused to get back on the pitch in the second half to prove his mettle.
Chelsea fans admired Havertz’s composure as shown in the clipping which went viral on social media, as it also meant that there is no shortage of winning mentality in the German despite a poor start to life in England – he knows that a draw against Leeds United is not good enough for a club of Chelsea’s stature and resources.
Havertz is only waiting for his moment to shine, much like he was in the Elland Road tunnel at half time Saturday. Chelsea will want his moment to come much sooner rather than later, as they would want the 21-year-old to repay the faith and the funds invested on him by the club after he joined from Bayer Leverkusen for a club-record transfer fee last summer.
Havertz is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in global football scene right now, often considered to be one of the greatest talents ever produced in his homeland, and Chelsea fans will be hoping for him to display his prodigious talent for several years to come at Stamford Bridge.

People thinking Havertz is being left out when he’s realistically just a top competitor/professional. All business approach we need more players like him. https://t.co/UJoggpvvT3

I rather my players focused during pre match, half time. Have a giggle at FT providing you’ve played well & Chelsea have won the game 👍🏼
