Besides the unbeaten run the club finds itself in at the moment, the turnaround in Antonio Rudiger’s fortunes under Thomas Tuchel has been the most surprising aspect of the German manager’s tenure so far at Chelsea.
The centre-back, who was bought for a sum of £31 million back in 2017, suffered a tough spell under Frank Lampard with the Englishman choosing to leave the former AS Roma man out of the lineup for the majority of the games he managed for the club.
Rudiger’s stature among Chelsea fans took a further hit when he was accused of playing a huge role in Lampard’s sacking by Telegraph journo Matt Law.
The 27-year-old had featured in just 4 games for Chelsea this season under Lampard but has made a complete u-turn when it comes to his game time and his repute among fans with the arrival of Tuchel.
Rudiger is clearly enjoying his time at the club now and it reflected during a moment in the game against Sheffield United in the FA Cup last night.
In a moment of peak trolling from Rudiger, the Blues defender was caught on camera teasing Ben Osborn brutally as he enticed the midfielder to gather the loose ball from him but threw it away as soon as the Sheffield man arrived –
