The Real Madrid loanee has taken to it like fish to water at the north London outfit
Martin Odegaard has enjoyed a sensational start to his life as an Arsenal player with the newbie delivering an instrumental performance over the weekend against West Ham United.
The Norwegian didn’t score nor he provided any assist but was one of the most important element of the Gunners’ comeback at the London Stadium after being 3-0 down in the first half.
This, after he had opened his Arsenal account in one of the most splendid of manners in the first leg fixture against Olympiacos in the Europa League. Odegaard further showed his value a couple of days later as well when he struck a crucial goal during the 2-1 win against arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Two key factors influencing his decision
Odegaard himself touched upon the attributes that will affect his decision to stay at Arsenal beyond the current loan spell.
According to Arilas Ould-Saada, a football reporter for Norwegian tabloid VG, Odegaard values ‘stability’ within the club and his ‘development’ as a player as the two most valuable components in making a decision regarding his future.
“Haven’t thought about what’ll happen in summer. Deal with Arsenal is until the end of the season. We’ll see what happens this summer. I’ve said things before that I still stand for: Stability and development are keywords.”
Odegaard’s response when asked about his long-term future
The Royal Whites loanee is playing as good as he did during his loan spell with Real Sociedad last season, and Arsenal fans would want the club to go hard at work to secure the Norway captain’s services on a permanent basis.
