Drone footage of an erupting volcano near the Fagradalsfjall mountain in Iceland has gone viral online. The volcano situated about 40 kms away from the Iceland capital Reykjavik, erupted on March 19 – as the aerial footage captured from a drone displayed some brilliant imagery of lava flowing from the volcano which erupted after thousands of small earthquakes in the area in recent weeks.
The footage that went viral was captured by aerial photographer Bjorn Steinbekk, and is one that has been shared multiple times on social media platforms over the past week.
In a recent interview to 5 News, Steinbekk talked about his emotions after securing the incredible footage with his drone – comparing his feelings after getting the footage to his feelings when Liverpool won the Premier League last season.

The drone pilot said that he just had to take the chance to get the footage and luckily for him, the drone survived being in close proximity to the erupting volcano – and came out of the ordeal in one piece to share the footage with the world.
When asked about how did he feel when he knew that he had secured some of the most amazing visuals that nature has on offer, Steinbekk replied that he felt like he did when Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool won the league title last season-ending a three-decade-long wait for the club’s fans.

The analogy made by the photographer has been a massive hit with Liverpool fans, as one can draw parallels to the magnitude of Liverpool’s 19th top-flight title win – an incredible moment for their supporters, of which Steinbekk is likely to be one.
While Liverpool were very much an active volcano with their fireworks last season, they have been much more dormant this season – as their bid to defend the title have been thwarted by injury concerns.
