Japan wipes the floor with Mongolia in big World Cup Qualifier win

Japan made extremely light work of Mongolia as they thrashed the minnows 14-0 in a Group F match at Fukuda Densi Arena.

As the scoreline suggests, the Samurai Blue were relentless in their demeanour, a performance summed up by their 3 goals in the 3-minute second-half injury time period.

Liverpool player on loan at Southampton, Takumi Minamino opened the rout as Werder Bremen’s Yuya Osako scored a hat-trick helping Japan pulverize the 190th ranked team on Tuesday.

A total of eight players got on the scoresheet for Japan, who have now all but sealed their place in the third round of Asia’s World Cup qualifying tournament with a win in Chiba.

There have been some serious margins dished out in this edition of international matches as Canada beat the Cayman Islands 11-0, Denmark won 8-0 against Moldova and Austria U21s demolished their Saudi Arabia counterparts 10-0.

But Japan’s demolition job on Mongolia was on another level as they scored 9 second-half goals, have a look at the reaction that followed on Twitter –
