‘Take the ball, pass the ball’ is not just the name of the Netflix documentary dedicated to Barcelona’s explosive 4 years under Pep Guardiola but also the ethos which identify their playing style.
The same characteristics were on full display as Barca scored their 4th goal against Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey final at Estadio de la Cartuja last night.
The Catalans won 4-0 to clinch the prestigious trophy and their last goal on the night was something special as it occurred after a sequence of 62 passes. Lionel Messi finished off what was essentially a goal built upon patience, movement, awareness and composure.
