Colombia won their opening fixture of the Copa America courtesy of a goal that was straight off the playground. Edwin Cardona’s strike against Ecuador might have come after one of the best set-piece routines ever.
It was an extremely intricate build-up from Los Cafeteros as they used their opponents as training cones during a move that saw 6 touches in total.
Cardona started the move, played one-two passes with Juan Cuadrado & Miguel Borja and then finished it off with a lovely shot across the goalkeeper into the far corner.
The Ecuadorians looked absolutely gobsmacked while defending the set piece and were guilty of laying an offside trap that managed to catch every Colombian player offside besides the two guys that ended up finishing off the play.
