Robin Gosens announced himself to the world with a left-wing back masterclass at Allianz Arena as Germany became the first team of Euro 2020 to score more than 3 goals in a match.

From Cristiano Ronaldo’s amazing box-to-box sprint to Robin Gosens’ thumping header, we can only hope that the rest of the matches in the competition would be as exciting as Germany’s 4-2 win against Portugal yesterday.

The Germans played at a much higher tempo, with heaps of intent, and bar the counterattacking goal from Ronaldo, they utterly destroyed Portugal.

Robin Gosens turned out to be one of the main architects of Portugal’s destruction as he ravaged their right side – guarded by Nelson Semedo co – with lethal crosses at will.

The Atalanta fullback was as direct as he could get in the final third as he started the comeback with a cross that led to Ruben Dias scoring inside his own goal.

The 26-year-old put his stamp further on the game with an assist for Kai Havertz and then capped off his 62-minute outing with a towering header to make it 4-2.
