Thorgan Hazard found out why Jorginho is so difficult to play against as the Borussia Dortmund midfielder got sent to the shadow realm while trying to press the Chelsea stalwart.
Italy reigned supreme in their 2020 European Championship quarter-final encounter against Belgium and secured progress to the semi-finals as goals from Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne cancelled out Romelu Lukaku’s penalty in Munich.
It was a complete team performance that did the job for the Azzurri – with Chelsea’s Jorginho shining brightest in midfield as he showed Hazard junior his press-resistant abilities with a nifty piece of footwork.
Jorginho was instrumental in keeping the ball ticking in midfield. The Chelsea midfielder completed 70 out of his 71 passes, made two interceptions and nine recoveries – excelling as a metronome in Roberto Mancini’s system.
Italy will need the Chelsea player to be ahead of his opponents again as they prepare to face Spain in their EURO 2020 semi-final clash at Wembley.
