Ryan Kent pulled off a humiliating piece of skill on Victor Chust when Rangers met Real Madrid in a pre-season friendly.
The Scottish Premiership side prevailed over the La Liga outfit by two goals to one, as second-half goals from Fashion Sakala and Cedric Itten cancelled out Rodrygo’s first-half strike.
Even though the headlines focused on Carlo Ancelotti losing his first game as the Los Blancos manager to Steven Gerrard, it was a certain Ryan Kent who stole all the limelight – courtesy of a piece of skill that the poor footballer on the other side will never forget.
Los Blancos’ talent Victor Chust was defending in his natural right-back position as he went up against a motivated Ryan Kent, who intended to dribble past the Spanish defender.
Kent needed something special to get past the highly-rated Real Madrid youngster, and that is exactly what he brought to the table as the former Liverpool player fooled his counterpart with a slick feint.
When an unbalanced Chust regained his starting position, Kent repeated the same manoeuvre – but this time it was for real and the Englishman had left the Spaniard embarrassed, trailing in his wake.
Not only did Kent leave Chust behind in a heap, but he made the humiliation even worse by nutmegging Chust before he ran at more Real Madrid defenders to try and force an opportunity.
The Real Madrid defenders desperately tried to catch hold of Kent but the Rangers man looked like a man possessed as he offloaded the ball to the right flank expertly despite being put under immense pressure.
It was a passage of play against a team of pedigree that is certain to motivate Kent for the coming season, whereas it will be anything but the same for poor Victor Chust – who will never opt to revisit the piece of skill that has since gone viral on social media platforms.
