Everyone who follows English football was looking forward to an epic battle between rivals Chelsea and Manchester City. The clash of the current European champion against the current English champion.
The odds were slightly tipped in the Blues’ favour before the match but the tables turned soon after the kick-off.
Chelsea were struggling to get their usual style of football working and it wasn’t long before Manchester City took the lead in the second half. Gabriel Jesus scored the only goal of the match as City held on to their lead till the final whistle at Stamford Bridge.
On the surface, Pep Guardiola’s team selection put on a great show. But what really caught people’s attention was Guardiola himself. The Spaniard grabbed attention with his usual charismatic demeanour and exciting celebrations. And for one another reason.
The ‘mdcr’ jumper
Pep Guardiola made an appearance on Saturday and what was the first thing we noticed him wearing? A new jumper, of course.

The City boss was seen wearing a black jumper with ‘mdcr’ written across the back, prompting many football fans to take to Twitter in an attempt to find out what the garment was all about.

As it turns out, the jumper is part of Puma and City’s official ‘Madchester‘ range of clothing.
It is an ode to Manchester’s successful ’80s and ’90s indie dance music and rave scene, which is bound to be famous among City fans to this day. Check it out below –
