Leeds United picked up all 3 points on the road and lifted themselves out of the relegation zone while Norwich City’s horrendous winless run continued as the Whites trumped the Canaries 2-1 at Carrow Road.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side went down and dirty to bag their second win of the season as Raphinha made his presence felt up front.
The real drama however extended beyond the pitch, as the Brazilian winger put up a story reminding Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul of the statement he had made after a 3-1 win over Leeds at Elland Road, back in 2019.
The statement read “they are not Barcelona”. A not-so-subtle dig at the hype surrounding Leeds at that time.
As it turns out, Raphinha was able to rummage through the internet to find that very article, which he then put up as his status with the caption, “we are not Barcelona, we are Leeds United.”
The social media move is bound the unlock cult status for the Brazilian as he was not even a Leeds United player during the game in 2019.
This vengeful reply was met by rapturous applause by fans, who inundated Twitter expressing their appreciation of this befitting reply.
Seems like Krul learned the hard way that “revenge is a dish best served cold”.
