Bruno Fernandes had a dismal outing against Manchester City in the weekend’s derby clash at Old Trafford, as the hosts abjectly failed on all fronts in the 2-0 loss.
However, the Portuguese playmaker’s slipshod day on the field was followed by a social media slip up by his PR team, who couldn’t have picked a worse time to make the blunder.
Amid rancorous tweets from fans raging on Twitter after United’s home defeat, is a post captioned “Good Vibes” uploaded via Bruno’s account.
Adding to the comedy is the fact that the post (now deleted) neither featured himself or his teammates but Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli, visibly sharing chuckles with his Arsenal teammates during a training session.
The comedy of errors continued, as moments later the same photograph was tweeted from Martinelli’s account, evidently by the same media team that handles the Portuguese’s affairs.
Twitter had a right laugh on the whole situation. While some asked for the social media manager to be “sacked following this stupidity”, others stated that the fiasco was “the best thing of the day” and delivered “much-needed laughs” to the gloomy United fans.
