Football is known as ‘the beautiful game’ for a reason.
Putting aside intricate dribbles, heroic tackles, swerving shots etc, what makes the game beautiful is how inclusive it can be.
Played across 6 continents, the game is for everyone no matter their background, religion or race. And every once in a while the world witnesses an embodiment of this sentiment, as exhibited by Real Betis supporters.
As we draw closer to the holiday season, a light must be shone on those who are less fortunate.
Keeping in line with a tradition dating back to 2018, Beticos delivered this message brilliantly yesterday.
Supporters gathered inside the Estadio Benito Villamarin showcased their generosity as they showered the pitch with soft toys, lobbing them onto the turf from the stands right during halftime against Real Sociedad.

The scenes were glorious and perhaps the most adorable rainfall one can hope for.
The moment was serenaded with Bobby Helms’s classic ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ ringing around the stadium.
The purpose of all this is a charitable effort undertaken by the club and its supporters to make sure kids in need have a present to cheer them up this Christmas.
All the toys were collected and will be distributed amongst children.
The spirit of merriment at the stadium was furthered as fans were treated to a 4-0 victory for the home side. Capping off a jubilant night for the Beticos.
