Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min is undoubtedly one of the nicest figures in the footballing world.
Aside from his exploits on the pitch, the South Korean international can always be seen sporting a charming smile, capable of making anyone’s day.
He’s also known for his numerous acts of kindness off the pitch, the 29-year-old can often be seen handing out shirts to supporters and thanking his fans for their support.
These acts have rightly earned the forward a lot of adoration amongst fans, and this little clip that surfaced after Spurs’ EFL Cup victory over West Ham will only increase that admiration.
Football at its very core is a medium of entertainment, a source of inspiration and a channel for invoking happiness.
This clip plays into all the aforementioned themes and could perhaps even be the best thing you’ll see all day.
The video features an avid young football fan looking to grab the attention of Spurs’ stars who were warming up near the corner flag.
The little girl initially calls out ‘Gio!’ along with enthusiastic waves but unfortunately is unable to get through to Giovanni Lo Celso.
She then shifts her sights onto Son Heung-min who, as fate would have it, was looking in the same direction.
She adorably calls out ‘Sonny’ and the man himself takes notice and then follows back with a polite wave along with his trademark smile.
The little gesture from the forward had the little girl grinning from ear to ear, in the clip she turns around to reveal her overjoyed expression concluding a precious moment.
And certainly, one which might just make Son her favourite player, although the Spurs talisman probably already was.
When Sonny waves at you ⚽️😍
