Former Everton player Leighton Baines looks unrecognizable with his hair down in training

Leighton Baines has always been known as one of the best left-back in the Premier League. Baines started his career with Wigan Athletic and reached his peak with Everton. He was named a part of the PFA Team of the Year twice.

In 2007, he became Everton’s most expensive defender when he bought for £6million. He went ahead to score a total of 39 goals in 420 appearances. Only 4 other defenders have scored more than him in Premier League history. Baines retired in the 2019/20 season.

Baines was quite a popular guy. He is not only remembered for his free kicks (especially that 119th-minute goal at Stamford Bridge to beat Chelsea in an FA Cup tie), but also for his taste in music and his decade-long dynamic hairstyles.

And it is his hairstyle that has started to trend on Twitter once again…

HAIR WE GO

Leighton, who is currently a coach at Everton, is someone who abstains from the limelight. He is not on social media and doesn’t plan to join anytime soon.

He would’ve been loved the hilarious take that fans have observed about the new picture. He is seen in conversation with the new manager Frank Lampard. Everton posted the picture on their Twitter handle with the caption “#PL icons”.

Let us take a look at some of these hilarious reactions:

We demand the makers cast Baines in the new LOTR series…

And we love it that way

Like his free kicks

For sure

Baines does indeed look like some mythical figure or a character out from a high fantasy drama. Baines had a series of bizarre haircuts throughout his career. He loved sideburns and kept them for most of his playing career.

After his retirement, he once again changed his hairstyle, and without a doubt, fans are loving it. Baines had this adorable personality and exceptional looks, which made him one of the most likeable footballers of his time.

Baines has been someone that people looked up to. He ran a music blog on the Everton website during his time in Goodison Park. He also has a growing photography portfolio. However, he has always been the quiet and modest one. He retired too under his terms and in quiet undertones.

EVERTON AND BAINES

Everton has been preparing for their FA Up match against Brentford this Saturday. The new manager Frank Lampard was seen training with the players on Wednesday.

Baines was seen on the session observing the training closely. Meanwhile, as the post depicted, he also had a good chat with Lampard.

Baines has been crucial to the Everton backroom right since he was brought back. He was initially brought back to assist Duncan Ferguson during his caretaker manager position. Baines has been the professional development coach and has worked closely with the under18s and under-23s squad previously.

His experience and leadership skills have produced great insight for the management in the past. Hopefully, he will be of great help to the new manager too.
