Liverpool Center back Nathaniel Phillips recently made the switch to EFL side Bournemouth on deadline day.
The loan deal will see the 24-year-old spend the rest of the season at the Cherries.
He got his first start in Bournemouth colours during the Cherries’ FA Cup tie against Boreham Wood, and it didn’t take long for one of Phillips’ tendencies to reappear.
As far as archetypes go, Phillips is known for being an old school defender.
Tough, no-nonsense, and willing to put his body on the line Phillips identifies with these rare characteristics in the modern game.
However, this also means that it isn’t rare to see the Englishman suffer some sort of on-field injury, the most frequent one being a blow to the head.
Liverpool fans will attest to having seen the centre-back don a head bandage during games and it took just 33 minutes for the same trend to occur on his debut for Bournemouth.
The image quickly went viral and reactions followed.
It’s taken Nat Phillips just 33 minutes of his debut with Bournemouth to get his head bandaged. New club. Same Nat.

Unfortunately, a bump to the head wasn’t the only affliction Phillips suffered during the game as Bournemouth ended up on the wrong side of a major upset.
Their Fifth Division opponents managed to clinch a 1-0 victory, making it a nightmare debut for Phillips.
Liverpool, on the other hand, breezed past Cardiff City ensuring their qualification into the 5th round of the FA Cup.
