Celtic continued their title charge last night by seeing off Aberdeen at Pittodrie in a five-goal thriller.
They did so on the backs of a goal by O’Riley and a brace by the in-form Portuguese Jota.
The 23-year-old has been a revelation since arriving on loan from Benfica and has already netted 10 times this season.
Firmly a fan favourite, Jota’s celebrations are often eye-catching, and this occasion was no different.
Instead of a spontaneous gesture, Jota opted for a pre-rehearsed routine with goalkeeper Joe Hart.
It isn’t the first time routine based celebrations have occurred on the pitch and it’s common to see tidy dance manoeuvres or elaborate handshakes.
However, the duo’s celebration certainly stands apart in this regard, as it references another sport altogether.
Right after slotting in his first of the night in the 16th minute, Jota mimicked swinging an imaginary golf club towards his goal.
The camera angle, which was pointed directed at the Portuguese at the time, did create some confusion as to the meaning behind the swing.
Nonetheless, footage emerged later which provided context, as Joe Hart appeared to leap and catch the imaginary golf ball.

Jota also ended up scoring the winner for his side in the second half, concluding a good day’s work for the striker.
Ange Postecoglou’s side will now look toward their next fixture against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup, whilst keeping an eye on 2nd placed Rangers in the league.
