As the release of the highly awaited superhero flick ‘The Batman’ draws near, hype and excitement continue to rise.
Even footballers have been gripped by the Bat-fever, an example being PSG forward Neymar’s appearance at the film’s premiere in Paris.
The newest player to get caught up in the hype is Chelsea Star Kai Havertz. The German has gone above and beyond in expressing his Batman fandom as he appears to have gotten the Caped Crusader tattooed on his right upper arm.
He took to his socials to reveal his brand new body art, one in which the beloved superhero has a football tucked beneath his arm.
Unfortunately, the tattoo wasn’t received as positively as the German expected. Instead what followed was a barrage of trolling, even his Chelsea teammates joined in the fun.
His fellow Blues and Germany compatriot Antonio Rudiger could only laugh in reaction.
Blues captain Cesar Azpilicueta at least had some words for the young German, albeit far from encouraging.
Replying to his Instagram post, Azpi hoped that the tattoo was a temporary one akin to those made for kids and sold alongside chips packets.
The Spaniard wasn’t finished and he then posted a story featuring an image of two after their UCL triumph, it was captioned, ” Hope you don’t tattoo this bro, love you” Azpi managed to get the last jab in with the story, while also letting Kai know, it’s just some friendly banter.
Considering the reactions, it’s possible that the German is already thinking of removing the ink. And if he’s pondering suitable replacements, might we suggest his Champions League-winner for Blues?
