Tottenham Hotspur under Antonio Conte looks to have finally broken their inconsistent streak of winning and losing consecutive games. Since beating defending champions Man City in the Premier League in February, Spurs have won and lost their remaining fixtures in all competitions up until their weekend tie against West Ham.
The London derby saw Spurs make it two wins in a row (after beating Brighton in midweek) as the north London side came out 3-1 winners.
Once again it was their ever-reliable attacking duo of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min who led from the front to secure the three points.
After the duo forced the Hammers to concede a Kurt Zouma own goal in the opening five minutes, Kane set up Son for a brace on either side of halftime to ensure the win.
Kane sent a defence-splitting through ball to unleash Son’s into the West Ham box and the South Korean finished the move with a brilliant shot to find the top corner.
In the second half, Kane nodded on a Lloris goal kick onto which Son latched on once again and raced into the box to calmly put it past Fabianski.
The brace on Sunday took Son above Kane on the scoring charts and is now level with Liverpool’s Diogo Jota on 13 goals each for a shared second place behind Mo Salah.
Spurs manager Antonio Conte was ecstatic to have the star duo back to their best and was visibly happy with Son’s performance.
The Italian manager was spotted embracing the South Korean international in a bear hug on the touchline after he came off for Lucas Moura in stoppage time.

The Italian’s hard work and energy is finally being reflected on his team going by the last few fixtures. The breaking of the win-loss curse would be such a boost for Spurs as they have closed the gap to the final top 4 spots down to 3 points.
While Arsenal have a game in hand, they also have a fixture crunch coming up with the likes of Chelsea and Man United to play. Son and co would be looking to capitalize on any slip up from their north London rivals in a final push to secure European qualification.
