At the beginning of the current Premier League season, Manchester United fans and Arsenal supporters were at a war of words with each other owing to comparisons between their respective centre-back recruits Raphael Varane and Ben White.
The Frenchman had almost won everything possible in football before arriving at Old Trafford from Real Madrid and United fans were adamant that he would be the better defensive signing.
Fast forward to May 2022, Varane has endured a difficult campaign due to his recurring injuries and has not been able to influence United’s defence like everyone would have hoped. In contrast, White has received plaudits from Gunners supporters for his sudden impact on the team and for his leadership skills.
The English defender’s most notable performance this season came during the north London side’s first leg League Cup fixture against Liverpool in January where he superbly marshalled a 10-man Arsenal side to end the game with a clean sheet.
His presence alongside goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has helped Arsenal achieve the fourth-best defensive record this season (till now) in the league with 13 clean sheets. This defensive solidity has ensured that Arsenal remains strong in the hunt for UCL qualification.
While his professional life has Arsenal fans impressed, it looks like his personal life too has intersected with football as the Englishman was spotted at the Emirates alongside his girlfriend Milly Adams during the Arsenal’s win against Leeds on Sunday.
With a hamstring injury ruling him out for the last two games against West Ham and Leeds, White was in the stands watching on Sunday while he was accompanied by Adams.
The latter is an Instagram model that has been popular amongst influencer circles online. But her appearance with White has caused a sharp rise in her fandom with football fans now wanting to know more about the pair.
Based on her Instagram feed, Adams and White began dating in February this year as the model took to her account to reveal photos of her holding hands with someone which fans suspected to be White because of the tattoos on display. It was confirmed to be White after the player himself shared the same image on his own Instagram account.
It has been the first time White presented himself with any partner in person and what better way to do it than at the Emirates alongside his beloved Arsenal fans.
