The quadruple dream is well on track for the rampant Reds as they picked up their second piece of major silverware this season, after trumping Chelsea in a penalty shootout.
Liverpool started off brightly and dominated proceedings for the opening 30 minutes. The Blues eventually grew back into the game, and excellent chances arrived at both ends. In a similar fashion to their previous 3 meetings this season, the two cancelled each other out in open play, and just like the cup final, penalties decided the winner.
Kostas Tsimikas converted the final spot-kick, and Liverpool lifted the ‘Arsene Wenger Invitational’… popularly known as the FA Cup.
Naturally, post-match scenes were a delight for any Liverpool supporter. Wembley truly resembled ‘Anfield South’ as a sea of Red took over.
Amidst all the merriment, you’d be surprised to learn that one individual appeared rather teary-eyed.
Discovered through this hilarious clip recorded by Andy Robertson, it was none other than James Milner who was bawling uncontrollably, except it was all artificial.
While the movements and expressions may appear extremely realistic, it is simply a face filter causing the waterworks.
The digital trick in use here is the incredibly popular ‘crying’ Snapchat filter.
Captured on the team bus, Robertson used the superviral ‘crying’ filter on the veteran, and the result left the Internet in splits. By exaggerating the look on the Englishman’s face, it appeared as if Milner was squalling relentlessly.
After realizing the prank Robertson was pulling, Milner opted to go with it and offered sorrowful expressions, heightening the hilarity. Even Virgil van Dijk, who looked on in the background, couldn’t hold back laughter, and neither could fans online.
It is now 2 out of 4 for Jurgen Klopp‘s ‘mentality monsters’, two crucial Premier League fixtures and the all-important Champions League Final remain.
