Putting aside the disappointment of the Champions League loss, Liverpool finished their stellar season on a high by rolling out the celebrations in Merseyside for their League Cup and FA Cup triumphs.
But it was not just the players leading the celebrations as senior figures such as manager Jurgen Klopp and outgoing Sporting Director Michael Edwards spearheaded the festivities by putting on show their dance moves for Reds supporters.
Edwards rolling back the years
As has been customary for Liverpool’s title-winning celebrations from the past few seasons, the Reds brought out the open-top bus that was gliding through the streets of Merseyside filled with Liverpool fans cheering their team on.
While the streets had fans hoisting banners and waving flares wildly, the scenes on the bus were not too dissimilar as the players too engaged with the party atmosphere without needing any second invitation.
But what has surprised football fans more than the players partying was Michael Edwards enthusiastically whirling a Liverpool scarf in the air and vibing to the party music on top of the bus.
Edwards has been the man behind the scenes for Klopp’s Liverpool and played a pivotal role in the club’s smart transfers that helped build a title-winning squad. He was spotted by fans smiling for the onboard camera while putting on this show before proceeding to throw the scarf into the sea of Reds supporters on the streets.
With Edwards set to leave Liverpool now at the end of the season, Liverpool fans would have enjoyed seeing him going out in style. While Pool fans would certainly have been surprised to see their board member emulate every uncle at a South Asian wedding (the twirling of the scarf and the nonchalant facial expression) with his moves, both Curtis Jones and Naby Keita too could be seen in the video on Twitter looking absolutely blown away by Edwards’ unexpected energy.
Klopp on the dance floor
Following the open-top bus tour, Liverpool took their celebrations indoors as it seems like the players and the staff headed to a club in Merseyside to carry on the event late into the night on Monday.
In a video that has gone viral on Twitter, manager Jurgen Klopp was spotted showcasing his slick dance moves on the floor in a club alongside Luis Diaz’s brother, Jesus.
Just as the German finished posing for a photo with Diaz’s sibling, Klopp can be seen immediately grooving to Bruno Mars’ dance tune “Uptown Funk” as Jesus Diaz looks blown away by Klopp’s moves.
While Jesus was dressed in flamboyant party attire, Klopp chose to sport a pair of Liverpool jacket and pants even for the dance floor and has once again undoubtedly earned the love of Reds supporters through this display.
