All is not well at West Ham United, as the Hammers currently sit in the bottom spot after losing their 3rd game in a row to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The London outfit looked eager to shrug off their winless record and started with promise, but it soon dwindled after Alexis Mac Allister scored from the spot to put the visitors 1-0 up.
West Ham did have their fair share of chances but lacked the clinical edge, and eventually went 2-0 down after Trossard provided the finishing touch to a swift move.
In the end, the Hammers were left with 0 wins in 3 and no points on the board as well. Despite bringing in Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet, the goals have dried up, as the side hasn’t managed a single goal in the Prem so far.
Safe to say, the club’s fortunes must see a quick change if they are to contest for a European Berth again.
Following the latest defeat, gaffer David Moyes was conservative with his comments and cited that there was no need for ‘alarm bells’.
While his words may have instilled a bit of belief in fans, captain Declan Rice‘s post-match presser did the opposite, as he offered up a rather lame excuse.
The England international said ‘We’re not Man City let’s be real, we’re not gonna win the Premier League. But you know what we’ve done the last 2 years is obviously the expectation of the fans, and we expect that of ourselves.’
An unnecessary comparison to the best team in the division was never going to sit well with fans.
Saying “we’re not Man City” is just a cop out after putting in poor performances, don’t like the vibe he’s giving off here at all

And on top of that, his admission that title hopes are a pipe dream rubbed supporters the wrong way.
We should be saying. "Why can't we do a Leicester"

Despite being true, hearing a lack of ambition from the team’s captain will unsettle any fan, and such was the case for Hammers online.
While losing out to City on opening day and falling short to the high-flying Seagulls can be excused, faltering against newly promoted Nottingham Forest really discredits Rice’s comparisons even further.
Fans are evidently losing their patience, and a quick turnaround is urgently required for West Ham.
