Fan culture in football has evolved in numerous ways over the past few years, especially in regard to fanfare around players.

In the past, supporters would usually sport their favourite player’s names on their backs, or turn to face paint on occasion.

In certain rare cases, fan-sponsored statues of beloved players would pop up, and of course, we have the classic tifo approach carried out in venues.

More recently, fans have picked up a more artistic approach to celebrate their favourite stars, one that has become so deeply embedded within the culture that you can spot it on various walls near footballing venues.

The methods in focus are murals, which vividly blend together ingenuity and passion.

Murals have been around forever, but in recent years, the art form has seen a boom amongst football circles, especially in the Premier League.

Players such as Mo Salah, Trent Alexander Arnold, Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford and many more, have all received their own murals in recent years.

But not all such paintings are perfect, and unfortunately, errors often creep into these intricate pieces of art.

A recent example of this is a brand new mural created by graffiti artist Benzi Brofman, who created a stunning piece of art featuring the stars of Tottenham Hotspur.

Located on Bruce Grove in London, it displays Richarlison, Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane.

Painted over a navy blue background, the likenesses of Son and Richarlison have been drawn perfectly.

Sadly, Harry Kane gets the shorter end of the stick, as his face appears rather puffy.

The cheeks look a bit inflated, and the jawline and chin just sort of blend in together which only enhances the bloated appearance.

Fans only saw the funny side though, and labelled the representation as ‘Kane before Conte’s ketchup ban’.

Others simply referred to him as Dejan Kulusevski, and we can’t help but see the resemblance.

Hopefully, English International sees the funny side as well.
