The Jurgen Klopp era has produced some of the best players in Liverpool’s history. He was the one to break their Premier League curse, helping them win their first league title in over three decades in the 2020/21 season.
But it’s hard to debate a player with more dedication and one willing to work harder for the club than Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian forward was, incidentally, not the German gaffer’s signing – as he was signed months before Klopp actually took over the club on October 2015.
Firmino, however, proved to be a diamond in the rough for the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager. His willingness to play anywhere in the front line, learn new tricks of the game, and pour his 100% energy levels onto the pitch won over the gaffer.
Bobby became one of the key elements of Klopp’s famous ‘heavy metal’ attacking style – as he is often the first player to press the opposition players, win back the ball and contribute in the final third.
Firmino’s ability to find space behind the defenders is underrated – while has also possessed a very clever creative ability.
The Brazilian forward is also a prolific goal-scorer, who has almost had to sacrifice some of his predatory instincts to help improve the overall performance of the club.
Of course, Bobby’s role in the team has dithered over the last few years due to his age and injury issues.
With his Liverpool contract set to expire on June 2023 and no extension talks yet having taken place, it could definitely be possible that this current season would be his final one at Anfield.
That is (probably) why the Brazilian forward opted to celebrate his 31st birthday at the place he calls his second home.
Firmino took a unique decision by opting to enjoy his birthday on 2nd October at Anfield – rather than at an expensive hotel or at his home.
He decided to keep it a rather quiet event and only posted pictures of the party very recently.
Firmino celebrated the low-key event with his loved ones, which included his family members and some of the Liverpool players whom he is the closest with.
Bobby brought along his wife Larissa Pereira as well as their three daughters.
While it’s not clear exactly which Liverpool players were invited to the party, some of those spotted were Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Fabinho, and goalkeepers Adrian & Alisson Becker.
The Brazilian goalkeeper’s wife Natalia Becker even posted a picture of the party, in which the 31-year-old forward was enjoying some karaoke at Anfield. It also seemed like everyone who attended had a real blast at the party, with Natalia even thanking Larissa for arranging it.
Firmino is one of the most-liked players in the Liverpool squad, so it’s not surprising that his birthday party ended up being a highly enjoyable event and beloved by the fans too.
There is a possibility that this would be his final birthday celebration at Anfield, but it looks like Bobby at least ensured that it was one to remember for everyone involved!
