Arsenal‘s incredible rise to Premier League frontrunners has been the result of patience and hard work, but smart transfer recruitment has also made a crucial impact.
In the past 3 transfer windows, the Gunners have made a string of solid signings, including a move for former Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus.
Signed last summer, the Brazilian shined in Red almost instantly, his performances in the beginning half of the season were especially incredible.
The 25-year-old turned into a talismanic figure at the Emirates almost immediately, and he has been an important part of the Gunners’ title charge.
Unfortunately, the striker’s momentum has been hampered by a knee injury sustained during the World Cup in Qatar, and he has been on the mend ever since.
In the meantime, Arsenal have continued their march towards the title, and they currently lead the race with a 5-point lead over second-placed Manchester City.
In Jesus’s absence, Eddie Nketiah has stepped up, and so far, he has been an effective deputy.
However, Gooners are still waiting anxiously for the Brazilian’s return, and they recently received a hint about the time frame of the Brazilian’s return.
It all came courtesy of this clip featuring the striker himself and UFC Icon Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Captured during Arsenal’s game against Manchester United, it shows the pair in conversation, and as the camera pans away from Jesus’s face, he can be heard saying ‘maybe 4-5 weeks more, then I come back.’
In response, the MMA legend says ‘4-5 weeks, okay then.’
Needless to say, the short clip fails to provide even a smidge of context, but given the reported state of his injury, it’s likely that their conversation was indeed about his return to the pitch.
Jesus said ‘then I came back’ towards the end of his sentence was enough reassurance for fans online, who began calculating the exact date of the striker’s return.
Of course, the theory is a bit speculative currently, but placing the Brazilian’s return to around mid-March is still a safe bet.
The striker’s forthcoming return will undoubtedly be a massive boost to Arsenal’s title ambitions, although his deputy in Nketiah has been doing a sound job thus far.
