Arsenal have been in some form this season. Even though the table toppers have faltered somewhat in the last five games, they are still two points clear at the summit with a game in hand over second-placed Manchester City.
Two of their three losses in the campaign have come in the last four games, such has been the supremacy of the London club.
They are the second-highest scorers (behind City), have conceded the second least (behind Newcastle) and have the second-best goal difference (behind City).
And they have achieved this while looking pretty good in all of their kits.
The three shirts, red (home), black (away) and pink (alternate), look ridiculously smart and had earned rave reviews when they were first officially launched.
With high praise coming from all quarters, Adidas, their kit manufacturers, would firstly be proud of themselves and secondly, would want to carry on the momentum into future campaigns and shirt designs as well.
As it turns out, a little over the halfway point in this season, and there are already leaks as to how the 2023/24 Arsenal kit could turn out to be by the German sportswear manufacturers.
23/24 Arsenal Home Kit
These are only leaks, of course, so we should not yet give our verdict, but early signs indicate a return of Gold colour in the home jersey.
As has been the case for a while, red and white are the prominent colours, with gold stripes and logos. The gold colour makes a comeback and seems like a major throwback to the 2005/06 jersey.
This design marks a deviation from the collared approach that Adidas has implemented this season, something that was liked and it is slightly surprising that it is done away with.
There is also, what appears to be, a scales-based pattern on the shirt.
The reaction has been mostly negative, with some even hoping that this never sees the light of day.
The gold colour would certainly be fitting if the club finishes at the top of the podium this season. Now we wait till the club officially releases the jerseys.
23/24 Arsenal Away Kit
Adidas have apparently decided to ditch the classy black colour of this season and return to a similar shade of the 2021-22 away kit.
The away shirt is revealed to be pale green or yellowish, with black stripes, sleeve details and logos. It also features an arrow-type pattern throughout.
The colour bares resemblance to Manchester United’s alternate kit of this season, which is made by the same company.
The reaction to the away version is worse than the home one.
23/24 Arsenal Third Kit
No news about the third kit has been leaked as of the writing of this article.
While the general reaction to the kits is negative, it is also imperative to note that these are only leaks and have a very high chance of being fake.
And even if these are not fake, both Adidas nor Arsenal must have by not gauged the reaction to the colours, and there is still plenty of time left for the firms to go back to the drawing board, quite literally.
Official announcements about next season’s kit is still supposed to be at least a month away.
