MC Tazo and The Geordie Singer drop horrifying NUFC songs ahead of Carabao Cup finals: Cover Your Ears

If you’re a Newcastle United fan, you might want to cover your ears for this one. Two new songs paying homage to the Magpies ahead of their EFL League Cup final against Manchester United are making waves for all the wrong reasons.

The first one is by MC Tazo, a Makina rapper from Gateshead, who debuted the track on BBC Radio Newcastle, and it’s safe to say that fans are not impressed.

The song, which includes lines like “Geordie boys make some noise, we’re going to Wembley” and “So tell yi ma, tell yi ma, you won’t be home for tea,” might have sounded good in MC Tazo’s head, but the response from Newcastle supporters has been less than enthusiastic.

Some have called it cringe-worthy, while others have said that the club deserves to lose the final for having such a terrible song associated with it.

It’s not hard to see why fans are reacting so negatively to the song. It sounds like something you might hear at a wedding reception, and not in a good way.

The lyrics are repetitive and uninspired, and the rapping itself leaves a lot to be desired. It’s the kind of song that gets stuck in your head and not in a good way, and you’ll find yourself humming it for days afterwards.

The second song, one by Paul Martin, who goes by the name TheGeordieSinger, was shown on Sky Sports a few days ago, and the response to that hasn’t been a lot better than the other one.

The song was sung by him and some Newcastle kids, who were visibly enjoying themselves. But the adult Geordies who were viewing it on TV couldn’t do much except shut the TV off.

It’s a shame, really, because Newcastle has some of the best fans in the league. St. James’ Park is always rocking with a number of songs the supporters like to sing, and even at away games, you can hear the Toon Army singing their hearts out. But these songs don’t come close to measuring up to the classics like “Blaydon Races” and “Howay the Lads.”

Of course, MC Tazo and Paul Martin would understandably and rightly argue that the song wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. Tazo wrote it just for fun, and it was never intended to be a serious anthem for Newcastle United.

But that doesn’t change the fact that fans are cringing at the thought of it being associated with their beloved club. In fact, some are even calling for Newcastle to be thrown out of the Carabao Cup final altogether as punishment for releasing such terrible songs.

Ultimately, the only thing that really matters is how the team performs on the day of the final. If Newcastle can pull off a win against Manchester United, no one will be talking about MC Tazo’s or Paul Martin’s songs anymore. But if they lose, you can bet that fans will be pointing to them as one of the reasons why.
