In a magnificent triumph at Anfield, Darwin Nunez demonstrated his true ability by scoring two goals against his bitter North West Derby rivals, Manchester United.
Liverpool demonstrated their scoring prowess in the derby by scoring 7 goals out of which 6 were scored in the second half. Darwin Nunez was the first scorer in this six-goal half.
The Liverpool fanbase all over the world seems impressed by the Uruguayan but this Russian fan seems to have gone one step ahead.
The Russian artist Dimitriy Diaz has shown off his artwork by creating a Darwin Nunez mural in his native country Russia. This was shared on Instagram, by the artist’s official handle.
The artist has previously shown his affection for Liverpool players with murals for Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
This was also shared by the Liverpool fan account @SamueILFC, where the fans have appreciated this new gesture.
Some users were shocked about the mural being in Russia. Others had their own theory of relations between Nunez and Russia.
One user replied: “My goat”
Another user wrote: “He has a chance to be better than Suarez here”. It seems it is too early to predict the future of the young Uruguay international as he has suffered for form this season.
Darwin Nunez has scored 14 goals and 4 assists in 31 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool. His recent form of goals after coming back from an injury has been an important part of the revival of the Reds this season.
Liverpool are currently 5th in the Premier League table with a game in hand and 3 points separating them from Tottenham who sits at 4th. Jurgen Klopp would be very happy with this result and would like to secure more points when they visit Cherries.
After this match, the fixture list would get tougher for Liverpool as they would play against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea consecutively.
It seems that with this delightful victory, Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have extinguished the sorrow of the 5-2 loss at Anfield against Real Madrid. This might even ignite a few players to go on and create a miracle at Santiago Bernabeu in the return leg.
This victory could be the perfect start for a fightback by the Reds as they go on to secure the Champions League spot in the next 13 matches.
