Aston Villa forward Alisha Lehmann was recently linked to a relationship with German sports journalist Riccardo Basile.
The Swiss star, who made her move to Bescot Stadium in the summer of 2021, is usually one of the hottest topics in women’s football media.
Reports circulated that amid her recent outings on the pitch in the WSL, Lehmann was also offered a whopping €100,000 by an adult site to get her an account.
The official statement from the website read that Lehmann would be posting “official training videos, thirst traps, and personal field questions.”
Lehmann, who had famously been dating Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz, broke up with the Aston Villa man in 2022 and has been frequently linked with different footballing personalities ever since.
Following up on the trend, a German website came forward with reports of the former West Ham forward now dating German sports journalist Riccardo Basile.
Riccardo, who is among the moderators of Sky Deutschland, recently interviewed Alisha, where, as per the website, a “connection” sparked between the two.
Riccardo traveled to the city of Birmingham for the shoot of the Sky exclusive “My Story”, where he and Lehmann spoke in great detail of the latter’s professional life as an athlete and an influencer.
The rumor suggested that Lehmann and Basile “laughed a lot” and “flirted with each other”, referencing their Instagram posts where the two tagged each other. The report claimed Lehmann and Riccardo to be the “next hottest couple” in the footballing world.
However, as it turns out, the claims made by the source were completely false. Alisha Lehmann took to herself to address the claim which was spreading like wildfire.
The Swiss took to Twitter to deny the reports, as the tweet suggested they only did one interview and that she has “nothing going on” between her and Riccardo.
This wasn’t the first time Lehmann had to come forward and publicly address such rumors surrounding her personal life and her relationships.
The Swiss international has previously addressed her disappointment with the media’s inability to cover her professional feats.
She’s expressed great frustrations regarding the immoderate manner in which reporters cover her personal/social life instead of focusing on her accomplishments on the pitch.
In a rather dull ongoing season for the Villa star, Lehmann has netted only one goal and provided a single assist in the 15 matches she has played in the WSL this season.
Consistent lackluster performances have resulted in the former West Ham striker making more appearances from the bench rather than being a part of the starting XI in recent weeks.
Previously, Lehmann backed out from participating in the 2022 Women’s European Championship, which was subsequently won by England. The forward had confirmed that she did not feel mentally ready to take part in the tournament.
Lehmann’s Aston Villa, who recently secured a victory against Manchester City Women in the FA Women’s Cup, currently sit 5th on the WSL table. The Villans would be hoping to secure the full three points in their next league encounter against the last-place Leicester City Women.
