Harry Kane being linked to moves away from Tottenham Hotspur is a transfer ritual at this point.
Season after season, the England captain is associated with a move to some of the top-ranked clubs around Europe. The Tottenham #9 was a brink away from joining Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the summer of 2021, but no rumours were ever brought to fruition.
Continuing on the trend, elite clubs from the top five European leagues are once again circling Harry Kane like vultures as the transfer window approaches. Manchester United in particular are ready to match the €88 million price tag Tottenham demand.
Reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are in the hunt for a striker after Robert Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona. It is rumoured that Oliver Kahn and Co see Harry Kane as the ideal replacement for the Polish striker, and have been attempting to lure the England international out of London.
Amid the links to Manchester and Munich, it is now being reported that the City of Paris has come calling for the services of Kane.
PSG‘s attacking woes were on full display yet again at the European stage, where despite the presence of the star-studded front three of Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe, the French giants were shown the doors by Bayern Munich.
With strong rumours suggesting Messi’s return to boyhood club Barcelona and the PSG board’s keenness to let go of Neymar Jr, the Parisians will require a much-needed attacking boost come the summer.
Mbappé has been hell-bent on playing in a wider position for PSG, and a lack of quality striker up top, paired with unclarity surrounding Leo Messi’s future at the club, calls for a hunt for a world-class number 9 by the Qatari board.
The hunt has naturally led PSG’s sporting director Luis Campos to arguably the best striking option available in the market, Harry Kane.
The record goalscorer for England has gone through yet another disappointing season in North London, which saw Tottenham go trophyless once again.
Amid managerial controversies and poor performances on the pitch, it is rumoured that Kane could be on his way out of the Lilywhites, who’re reluctant to let go of arguably their greatest striker of all time.
A move to the French capital could prove to be a sure-shot way to silverware for Harry, who will be turning 30 in July and is yet to win a significant trophy in his club and international career.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been an admirer of the England international for the longest time. The PSG president was previously keen on stealing Kane away from Spurs when the former was adamant about a move away from Tottenham.
Given Kane’s age and the situation surrounding Tottenham’s managerial positions, now could be the perfect time for PSG to land Kane in Paris. It remains to be seen if the Qatari suitors will be able to battle out United’s interest in the striker.
Tottenham board will continue to play hardball to fend off Kane’s suitors. Daniel Levy was recently asked about Harry Kane’s future at Spurs and the Tottenham Chairman was bold to share his beliefs that the striker will “absolutely win” a trophy at Spurs. The Englishman also shared his ambitions of having a statue of Harry Kane outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, Kane’s camp has clarified that decisions regarding his future will be made only after the Tottenham board appoints a new manager. That said, we’re set for yet another transfer window that’ll dramatize the future of Harry Kane.
