Real Madrid Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, Who’s Played as Left-Back, Uploads Video Showing Goalkeeping Skills

Eduardo Camavinga, Real Madrid

French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is a man who can wear different hats, if one goes by a recent viral video where he is seen showing his goalkeeping skills in a backyard training, presumably with his family.

In a widely circulated video on social media, the Real Madrid medio is seen making some splendid saves in the goal-line, diving on both sides, to thwart all the kicks hurled at him.

The Twitterati went abuzz with some even joking that Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti can look beyond incumbent Thibaut Courtois in the goal line for the near future.

The video of him making those stunning saves in front of the goalpost was uploaded by Camavinga himself on his official Instagram handle in a story format.

Camavinga paid tributes to Courtois in the video with a caption titled “@thibautcourtois thank you for your magic gloves.”

That caption literally created a Twitter war with fans going ga-ga over it.

Twitter was flooded with hilarious tweets like “Courtois has competition now”, “Please don’t let Carlo see this,” “How is Camavinga better than De Gea in Goal?” while there were a few, who literally went overboard, “Camavinga became the best midfielder. In the last 3 months, he was the best Left back. Now he wants to be the best Gk. Unbelievable.”

The 20-year-old has been a steady influence in the Los Blancos defence for the last few seasons, since joining them from Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennes FC in 2021, winning laurels from all over.

He had a good debut season in Spain, with Real Madrid clinching the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles.

He was also a member of the Real Madrid squad that lost to eventual champions Manchester City in the Champions League 2023 edition. The Angola-born player, who has opted to play for France at the national level, has mostly played as a central midfielder. He has doubled up though as a left-back while also revelling in the defensive medio’s position, showing his all-around versatility.

But his goalkeeping skills – be it in the backyard- surprised his online fans, some of whom admired his multi-tasking ability.

With the video being available on the multi-media platform YouTube, more comments like “Bro really can play in any position on the pitch,” “So Ancelotti also has got a backup goalie now, “maybe sometimes If Courtois get red card and Real Madrid don’t have any substitute again in the match, they can tell Camavinga to be Goalkeeper,” also popped up.

Camaviga is at present enjoying his time off from football and is currently holidaying in France before he reunites with the Madristas for their pre-season training.

But going by the video, one gets the feeling that you cannot keep this talent away from football  –irrespective of whether it is played on a proper soccer pitch or at his own backyard training ground.

And as one fan aptly commented, “I truly believe this guy can play all the positions we have in football!
