Erling Haaland has settled into life at Manchester City extremely well and doesn’t shy away from representing his club through unique attires in public places. The Norwegian striker followed the footsteps of his father, Alfe-Inge Haaland, to join the Cityzens last season for over £50 million.
He accepted a lucrative offer that promised to pay him over £800,000-a-week if all performance-related bonuses were met. It’s safe to assume that he probably bagged that amount in a lot of weeks, having scored a whopping 52 goals in his debut campaign. His goals helped City go the extra mile and claim the European Treble – being only the second-ever English team to do so.
Haaland has been in party mode ever since the Champions League win in June and was a highly entertaining figure in City’s trophy celebrations. He has also been travelling all around Europe to attend fashion events as well as promote the upcoming EA Sports’ FC 24 – for which he’s the cover of the standard edition.
Erling Haaland shows off Manchester City memorabilia
The Norwegian star is now ready to end his holidays and poised to join up with his City teammates before the start of the Premier League season. It doesn’t look like he’s at all agitated at that prospect, mostly because of his love for the club.
Haaland was born in England when his dad was playing for Leeds United at the time. However, soon after his birth, Alife went onto join City and played for them for three years before his career at the club was ended by the infamous Roy Keane tackle. But the 22-year-old has a special affirmation towards the Cityzens due to his father’s connection and whatever they did to help him.
It appears that the Norwegian forward has been tracking City’s success throughout the years and been a major fanboy. He recently posted a picture of himself wearing the 2016/17 home kit for City, the first season they played under Pep Guardiola. He is also drinking from a cup that has the crest of his club too, showing himself as a collector of Man City memorabilia.
Haaland feeling the love from Man City fans
This isn’t the first time Haaland has represented his club’s colours with pride this summer either. He turned up at the Dolce & Gabanna show earlier this summer wearing an all-light blue suit to pay homage to City’s colours. The Norwegian’s popularity also keeps on soaring within the Man City fanbase, with the supporters loving his dedication to the cause.
Some of the City fans are also mocking how the general consensus around his move to the Etihad Stadium last season was that Haaland joined them for money. It’s quite clear that was not the case at all and that he is a genuine supporter of the club for many years, something which the Sky Blues’ faithful love to see.
It’s now safe to claim that Haaland is a City man ‘through and through’ and will continue to give his everything for the club going forward. The supporters will hope he can retain his form from last season and look to score even more goals to help them maintain their dominance around England and Europe.
