Declan Rice’s popularity has soared since his record-breaking £105 million move to Arsenal and it seems he’s taking the ‘Rice, Rice Baby!’ chant a bit too seriously by advancing the modelling gig for Muller Rice.
For those unknowing, Muller Rice is a British brand that is known for its rice puddings, yoghurts and other dairy-based desserts.
Rice is a pretty popular item all across the country and the fact that Declan’s surname matches it makes this a marketing combination made in heaven.
The Englishman has already gotten a wicked rendition of his ‘Rice, Rice Baby!’ chant by Arsenal fan group AFTV and appears to be further improving his popularity by advertising for the Muller Rice products.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been partnering with the brand for almost a year now and did it during his time at West Ham too.
As part of the marketing, he has to make public visits to promote the product – which is mostly a hit among the younger generation in the UK.
Declan Rice promoting Muller Rice brand during off-season
Rice decided to pay a visit to the Dickerage Sports Centre to promote the Muller Rice brand last year, just before he completed a move to Arsenal.
That place is special to him, because it was the first place he played football at the age of three and has a special bonded with those still working in the centre.
He arrived at the Centre in a Muller Rice van with the ‘Rice, Rice Baby’ slogan written on it and had a pretty fun time reuniting with some of the old faces that have known him since he was a child.
Rice summed up his experience by saying: “It’s been incredible to come back to Dickerage – I spent a lot of my childhood here. It’s been great to see so many old friends and familiar faces and spend time with them. Thanks to Müller for bringing it all together and giving them a day they won’t forget. “
Some fans find Muller Rice tactic to be cringeworthy
Declan appears to be loving his time promoting Muller Rice and attending these events for them, but football fans are quite divided over seeing him promote that brand.
The brand have put up promotional advertisements and billboard of him promoting them all over the UK and some fans seem to find it to be extremely cringe-worthy.
Lots of fans loving the marketing stunt
With that being said, the Englishman has also managed to win over quite a lot of fans with his advertising for the brand.
There is a strong sense of admiration for whoever did the marketing on this entire partnership, because it actually fits like a glove and feels right.
Even though a bit tongue-in-cheek, fans love how Declan and Muller Rice have embraced their likeliness to promote the products.
Some have even recommended that Muller Rice manages to get Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller to join in on the act and have him unite with the Arsenal star to create the perfect combination to promote their brand.
Declan appears to be having a lot of fun in the off-season and is currently preparing for what will be a challenging first season at Arsenal, where expectations will be sky-high for him to prove his gigantic valuation and help the Gunners win something big.
