Tottenham Hotspur had a pretty impressive winter transfer window to the point that they definitely outdid their Premier League rivals with their activity.
The Lilywhites were swift to resolve some issues in the squad by signing ex-Chelsea man Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig and strengthening their backline with the signing of Radu Dragusin.
Even though Ange Postecoglou keeps insisting that their transfer business is done, it doesn’t seem like that is entirely true. Spurs appear to be eyeing the acquisition of another quality young player in Swedish star Lucas Bergvall from Djurgardens IF.
It has been reported that Spurs have tried a late hijack on Barcelona’s ambitions to sign the Allsvenskan midfielder, who has already made 25 appearances for them at the age of 17.
Tottenham, like Barca, have reportedly agreed a fee of around €20m, a record number for Allsvenskan.
Bergvall will not have to make a decision to end this intense transfer battle for his acquisition.
Whether he wants the Premier League experience or a move to a club that traditionally promotes young talent is entirely up to him, with Allsvenskan ready to sell the youngster.
