Arsenal Fans Fumbled Their Tifo SO Bad It Read ‘Somav’ Instead of ‘Vamos’

Arsenal fans have showed off some nice tifos in the past, but they got things embarrassingly wrong in their recent 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League.

With Arsenal coming into that match after a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth, the fans tried to lift the players and the manager with the help of some in-stadium choreography.

Fans in the Clock End had prepared a ‘Vamos’ banner that featured a photo of Mikel Arteta as well.

This is an ode to Arteta’s phrase ‘Vamos’ which he often uses to charge up his Arsenal players in team-talks.

But the execution of this tifo at the Emirates Stadium was comical at best.

Arsenal fans rolled out their tifo backwards and it read ‘Somav’ instead of ‘Vamos’.

This isn’t the first time that football fans have botched their tifos.

Gooners did it before in 2021, during their 0-0 draw against Manchester United in the Premier League.

The idea was to put an ‘Arsenal today, tomorrow, forever’ Tifo where Bukayo Saka was shown alongside a club legend.

But the execution of this one was horrible because many fans failed to pick up the materials needed to complete the tifo in synchronization.

Fortunately for Arsenal fans, they aren’t the only one to botch their tifo execution in recent years. Here’s a look at a few more –

Fans of Swiss side FC Zurich botched their ‘Come On Zurich’ tifo so hard it read ‘Cone Om Zurich’.

FC Twente fans suffered a tifo disaster of epic proportions earlier this year.

The supporters of the Dutch club brought a crane to hold up a big Tifo in a friendly match, but malfunction caused the entire tifo to collapse.

Real Madrid supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium had a bit of an embarrassing moment in the La Liga home derby against Atletico Madrid earlier this year.

They initially brandished a nice tifo celebrating the royal history of Madrid, but some people noticed that the tifo started getting torn apart after a point of time.

Los Angeles FC fans decided to create a unique tifo fearing the popular Mortal Kombat character ‘Scorpion’ in 2022.

While the character’s execution was perfect, the caption was horribly botched.

Instead of the popular catchphrase ‘Finish Em’ whenever you win a battle on Mortal Kombat, the Tifo read ‘Finish Me’ in what comes off an own goal from the fans.

Peterborough United might be playing in League One, but they still have a devoted fan base that takes pride in attending home games.

But their supporters don’t seem to be the most artistic people.

They tried unfurling a huge tifo celebrating the club’s identity and colour, but the thing just didn’t open up as intended to, causing a bit of a humiliation for the supporters.
