Diogo Dalot produced one of the worst misses any football fan will ever see in Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham United.
The Red Devils missed a variety of scorable opportunities in the first half, but Dalot’s one takes the cake.
After dribbling past the charging Lukasz Fabianski, Dalot had an open goal in front of him.
But he became nervous by the West Ham players trying to close him down and blasted his shot over the bar, missing one of the easiest goals he could’ve ever scored.
The entirety of the London Stadium was left gasping by the botched opportunity.
But the reaction of Manchester United newboy Joshua Zirkzee before Dalot’s shot just sums up how bad it was.
An alternate angle showing the miss from a side angle manages to catch Zirkzee on the touchline.
The Dutchman was warming up on the sidelines and got the perfect glace at the chance.
He had his arms raised in celebration after seeing the full-back surpass Fabianski, but ended up being bamboozled by seeing him put his shot over.
Alan Shearer called Dalot’s miss as one that will be remembered in 20 years time for how bad it was.
Going by Zirkzee’s reaction and that angle, he isn’t wrong at all.
